Connected Learning Website Awards

Posted by sakhs on July 5, 2008

My year 10 computing class have recently entered the DET Connected Learning Awards for student websites.

The Connected Learning Awards are run by the NSW DET to provide students with opportunities to engage with real-life situations, where they can develop skills in communicating, collaborating, self-directed learning, problem solving, researching and publishing their findings.  This year’s theme is ‘Earth’.  The open nature of the theme allows students to include work from a range of KLAs in any way they wish.  I’m very pleased with the entries.

Students have obviously worked hard to develop their entries. I particularly like Project Earth. In fact, they all have many strengths. Can’t wait to see them all when they are finished. Good luck everyone! x

    Thanks Msms,

The entries are all uploaded now. I liked Project Earth too; the design, functions and flash animations are very professional looking. The content is also relevant and well researched. As you say; all the groups brought something to this project and all have made very interesting contributions.

I really like the way the students have taken what I’ve taught them and explored the possibilities for themselves. I was very pleasantly surprised by some of the ideas they came up with.
